Local Shared Objects cookies (LSO cookies), also known as flash cookies (due to similarities to HTTP cookies or session cookies), are pieces of data that websites which use Adobe Flash may store on a user’s  computer.  This  is  an  application  which  is  used  by  the  vast  majority  of  commercial  websites that feature animations or videos.

Any  company  which  is  utilising  flash  cookies  to  store  user  data  without  consent  is  potentially  in breach of EU Cookie Directive.
